Spring finally arrived

Post date: Apr 14, 2015 1:13:41 AM

This weekend was finally spring weather worthy of the name and we took full advantage of it.

On Saturday a group of about 20 started out from South Acton, including first-sightings of Farooq, Phil, and Romaine, plus some new faces and one of our brethern from the North Shore. As befits the condtioning ride series, we regrouped periodically and insured everyone knew the twists and turns through Stow, Boxborough, and Littleton. We offered two ride options and the majority opted to go up Oak Hill from Littleton. Despite the wind, it was great to get up top and get some views off to the west, beckoning towards Mt. Wachusett. The descent down Stow Road into Stow is a great reward for the climbing effort.

On Sunday, Bob Kamen continued leading the Sunday conditioning ride series. About 10 came out, including the season's first sighting of Betty, Brian, and Kimo. Barry joined us midway as we got to Concord. We had the first full circuit, and opted for the longer 40 mile route through Carlisle. River Road in Carlisle and Concord was lovely on such a beautiful day.

We have one more weekend of conditioning rides coming up in April, the the normal variety of weekend rides will start to fill the weekend calendar.

We hope to see you out there soon.

Safe riding, David McCormick
